Biden’s Declaration of War on Domestic Political Enemies

Mao Zedong would be proud

Taking a page from former Chinese leader Mao Zedong’s book about the suppression of political enemies in order to maintain control, Joe Biden has declared war on his own domestic political enemies. Thanks to two decades of Democrats corrupting the nation’s intelligence and federal law enforcement agencies, the awesome powers of the surveillance state have been turned from a focus on overseas threats to an ever-evolving characterization (by Democrat prosecutors and the US Dept of Justice) of “domestic terrorists.”

Meanwhile, the Democrats’ Antifa and Black Lives Matter thugs are the vanguard of the American version of Mao’s Cultural Revolution in the streets.

Let us examine the topic.

DOMESTIC TERRORISM

The Biden administration’s “National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism” is a document that could have, for all practical purposes, been written by the Soviet Union’s KGB, East Germany’s Stasi, or the Communist China’s Ministry of State Security since anyone resisting those totalitarian Communist regimes was considered a domestic terrorist, too. From the document: “[R]acially or ethnically motivated violent extremists (principally those who promote the superiority of the white race) and militia violent extremists [sic] are assessed as presenting the most persistent and lethal threats.”

This statement is the latest effort by the American left to target white males, with past such efforts summarized here: “Caucasians with XY chromosomes, who self-identify as the sex they were at birth, are being portrayed by the left as misogynist, bigoted, homophobic, violent troublemakers in need of exposure; chastisement…” And now that involves identification and prosecution as “domestic terrorists” through the full force of the federal government.

Biden’s apparatchiks claim that “domestic terrorism is both persistent and evolving.” That is certainly so, as the focus has shifted from rooting out Islamofascist terrorists aligned with Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda to the internal threats posed by white nationalists and other new targets (never mind the BLM and Antifa criminals responsible for dozens of deaths and over $2 billion in property damage in 2020). Also evolving are their efforts to deal with that “evolving threat” – from lawfare to expansion of the use of confidential human sources to pre-dawn FBI raids to the creation of paper political crimes out of whole cloth.

Here is a short list of recent examples from The Spectator that are unprecedented in American history:

• Michigan is prosecuting 16 GOP activists, including the past opponent of the Democrat attorney general

• Wisconsin’s Democrat governor is calling for the prosecution of Trump’s 2020 electors

• Arizona’s Democrat attorney general is investigating Trump’s 2020 electors for potential prosecution

• Former President Trump has been indicted by four separate Democrat prosecutors for paper political “crimes”

• The “GOP 19” were indicted by a Democrat district attorney in Georgia for “discussing election strategies”

Stand by for an escalation in Democrat lawfare to include a Trump indictment for “insurrection.”

The Democrat-media complex and their media allies have been attacking Trump supporters non-stop since the 6 January trespass of Capitol Hill. Democrats orchestrated a year-long show trial in the House of Representatives to characterize those who entered the Capitol building as “insurrectionists” and, by extension, “domestic terrorists.” They are using the politically corrupt DoJ and FBI to conduct “one of the largest investigations in US history,” with Stasi-like solitary confinement methods to squeeze and prosecute hundreds of participants involved on 6 January.

The Democrats have been in bed politically with the Marxist Black Lives Matter movement, who castigate white Trump supporters as white nationalists and white supremacists who have benefited from a systemically racist system. [Interestingly, BLM has received donations via the Beijing-aligned Chinese Progressive Association, as noted by the Heritage Foundation.] Letting the BLM and Antifa off the hook for their violent acts while throwing the book at Trump supporters who are guilty of nothing more than non-violent misdemeanor trespass is an indication of how federal law enforcement and the judicial system has been corrupted by the Democrat Party.

These actions are one degree of separation from implementing a fully weaponized federal government and an institutionalized process for dealing with the Democrats’ political enemies. Just like the Chinese Communist Party!

THE COMMUNIST CHINA PARALLEL

The Biden administration’s targeting of domestic political enemies has reminded Xi Van Fleet, a Chinese woman who survived Mao Zedong’s “Cultural Revolution” of the parallels between the China of 1966 and the America of today, as quoted during a Fox and Friends interview by RealClearPolitics: “Forget about Donald Trump, what is happening in America is that the party in power is abusing their power and going after any opposition, Now it is Donald Trump and MAGA, but eventually, it is everybody because a communist regime does not tolerate any opposition, any dissenting voice. So they are coming after all of us, including those who are cheering now for Trump's indictment and think they are on the winning team. They are not. We all will become victims if we let them succeed.”

The Cultural Revolution began 1966 with the issuance of a document known as the “May 16 Notification” (五一六通知). It warned that the Chinese Communist Party had been infiltrated by counter-revolutionary “revisionists” who were plotting to create a “dictatorship of the bourgeoisie,” an ironic euphemism for a classical liberal capitalist society, which of course is anathema to communists. Mao himself wrote this sentence in the document, as noted here: "The objective of this great struggle is to criticize and repudiate Wu Han [the author of the Beijing Opera play Hai Rui Dismissed from Office, who was a convenient scapegoat] and numerous other representatives of the anti-Party and anti-Socialist bourgeoise.” This Notification was the pretext for the violence, mayhem, and persecution that tore China apart over the next decade at the arbitrary whims of Mao Zedong and the CCP.

Fast forward to China’s 2020 national security law, which is arbitrarily applied to Chinese citizens declared to be “domestic enemies of the state” by communist bureaucrats in the interests of tamping down dissent and maintaining one-party political control of China. This is eerily similar to the Biden administration’s war on “domestic terrorism.”

CONCLUDING THOUGHTS

Mao’s war against “revisionists” and would-be “bourgeoisie dictators” echoes the Biden administration’s fuzzy narrative that is constantly bleated by the Democrat Party and its media allies that “we must save our democracy” from the likes of the authoritarian Trump and his supporters. Somehow, the Democrats never precisely define what they mean by that. In reality, the phrase directly translates as a Democrat euphemism for “do anything and everything, including outside the rule of law, to silence dissenters from Democrat orthodoxy and preserve one-party Democrat rule in America.”

That is where we are headed. Who could have possibly predicted that the Biden administration would violate Americans’ Sixth Amendment rights to a speedy trial by keeping hundreds of January 6 political protestors in brutal pretrial confinement for over two years?

Just as it was for Mao, so it is for Biden and company: it is all about maintaining political control at all costs, and their “justice” is meted out arbitrarily to their political enemies. That is what Biden’s “war on domestic terrorism” is all about. Mao Zedong would be proud.
