The inexorable pushing of the climate hoax by green activists and their sycophants has reached the point where any local weather anomaly is blamed on “climate change” (formerly known as anthropogenic global warming until that phrase passed its sell-by date as all the associated catastrophic predictions somehow didn’t materialize). One of the newest sensational theories is that “climate doom loops” could result in catastrophic changes to the Earth’s climate, as discussed in Live Science a few weeks ago. A research study was quoted predicting that “more than a fifth of the world's potentially catastrophic tipping points — such as the melting of the Arctic permafrost, the collapse of the Greenland ice sheet and the sudden transformation of the Amazon rainforest into savanna — could occur as soon as 2038.” There always seems to be a new theory that energizes green activists when the old theories don’t pan out (or are later debunked by real science).
The propaganda effect of endless repetition of alarmist lies has resulted in almost all international organizations and most Western governments pushing policies aimed at phasing out hydrocarbon-based energy and replacing it with solar, wind, and other so-called “green energy sources.” For example, the globalist-minded Foreign Affairs magazine recently chastised the World Bank “for not mobilizing the necessary funds to help developing countries tackle climate change.” That article makes this bold statement without a shred of evidence with the assumption that “the science is settled” about the certainty of mankind-induced global warming (“climate change”): “Climate change already imperils communities around the world, especially in lower-income developing countries.”
The BBC has also been a champion of the green revolution. Readers and viewers are regularly subjected to scare-mongering about the looming catastrophe being brought about by “fossil fuels” and the need to rapidly transition to solar and wind to “save the planet.” Brits and others have been anesthetized over time by the BBC’s climate change narrative, but occasionally facts intercede that expose some of the lies.
Dr. Gordon Fulks (PhD in physics and a prominent “global warming realist” who has been battling climate alarmists for years) has elaborated on one such set of facts exposed over the past weekend by the Daily Mail (UK). His unedited commentary is provided below with his permission with a few bracketed administrative comments added. It should be shared everywhere.
He begins:
It has certainly been hot in some places this summer. But the alarmist media have been systematically overplaying the heat and forgetting to mention that other areas have been cool to cold. Below you will see the British Daily Mail taking the once highly respected BBC to task for misrepresenting the heat in Europe. While southern Europe has baked with North African hot air crossing the Mediterranean to Europe, the United Kingdom has been unusually cold. Yet the BBC shows "the UK in yellow and dark orange high-temperature hues."
The explanation for this weather phenomenon is simple. The Jet-stream is bulging north over the Mediterranean, allowing hot air from Africa to reach southern Europe. But that also allows cold Arctic air to come south over the United Kingdom. This is very elementary meteorology that is beyond most journalists, especially the climate-religion zealots at the BBC.

BBC's notorious climate propaganda backfires [paraphrased]
BBC viewers have been left baffled by ‘misleading’ weather maps that appeared to show Britain among European countries experiencing scorching temperatures - despite below average temperatures across the UK.
The broadcaster reported on high temperatures in southern Europe extensively last week with its weather charts showing much of the Mediterranean in red ‘extreme heat’ warning colours.
The weather maps also depicted the UK in yellow and dark orange high-temperature hues - despite rain and unseasonably cold temperatures across the British Isles last week.
While parts of Europe have seen temperatures of up to 47C (116F) the UK is set to experience average or below average temperatures throughout July, according to the Met Office. Most parts of the UK have also seen above average rainfall.
In a report delivered by the BBC’s climate editor Justin Rowlatt on Tuesday, viewers were shown a map with the UK depicted in orange and yellow colours, similar to parts of France and northern Spain.
Over the footage Mr Rowlatt explained: ‘A high pressure system held in place by the rapidly moving air high in the atmosphere, known as the Jetstream, is funnelling heat up from the deserts of north Africa and across southern Europe.’
However, viewers were not provided with temperatures in the UK for context. That day Britain saw highs of 24C (75F) in the south east while northern areas were just 12C (54F).
One of the broadcaster’s meteorologists told viewers that the ‘peak of the European heatwave is upon us.’
Charts depicting the UK in yellow and orange have been shown on the broadcaster’s channels, website and on social media extensively. Viewers complained this was misleading.
One viewer tweeted: ‘England is orange on the map but currently wearing a raincoat over a hoodie.’
Another added: ‘Why is Scotland orange in this graphic? I bought gloves in Scotland today. Gloves. In July. Gloves.’
A third questioned why the UK was depicted in orange when ‘people outside here in East Anglia are walking around in fleeces.’
Tory MP Craig Mackinlay said: ‘Summer temperatures in much of the UK are below average but you’d hardly know that from looking at the BBC weather maps. The colour coding is all wrong.’

[Dr. Fulks continues:] If you thought that the climate hype this summer has been far above average, while the actual summer weather has only been modestly above average, you would be correct. Zealots are making an all-out push to convince people that they need to support anti-CO2 policies at a time when these so-called "Green" policies are losing support. Voters across Europe and the United States are growing tired of paying a huge price for policies that are clearly having no effect on weather or CO2 levels. Alarmists are alarmed that they are losing this political battle, not withstanding the typical summer heat.
One curiosity has been the attempt to claim that the Southern Hemisphere is baking. Whenever I hear that, I like to check the temperature at the coldest place on Earth, the Russian Station at Vostok, Antarctica. It is presently 73 degrees F BELOW zero. During the claimed 'Global Heat Wave' this month, the high temperature on July 13 was minus-94 F and the low minus-98. One forecast for next week shows minus-109 F at Vostok. Now that is extreme COLD! [Refer to the two links below:]

Alarmists have also been trying to say that the all-time world record high temperature in Death Valley is being challenged this year. That is not true. Here is the data:
https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/death-valley/92384/july-weather/2258469?year=2023
It reached 128 F a week ago. But that is a far cry from 134 F on July 10, 1913. Here is the official data from the National Weather Service:
Note that the heat wave in July 1913 produced TEN record daily highs that still stand today.
And note that the record low maximum temperatures for July hover around 100 F. It is very rare for Death Valley not to reach 100 F in July.
Here is what the National Park Service has to say about the heat in Death Valley:
Record Temperatures
The hottest air temperature ever recorded in Death Valley (Furnace Creek) was 134°F (57°C) on July 10, 1913. During the heat wave that peaked with that record, five consecutive days reached 129° F (54°C) or above. Death Valley holds the record for the hottest place on earth.
Oddly enough, 1913 was also the year that saw Death Valley's coldest temperature. On January 8, the temperature dropped to 15°F (-10°C) at Furnace Creek. [More from the NPS about Death Valley:]
Longest Summers
The greatest number of consecutive days with a maximum temperature of 100° F or above was 154 days in the summer of 2001. The summer of 1996 had 40 days over 120° F, and 105 days over 110° F. The summer of 1917 had 43 consecutive days with a high temperature of 120° F or above."
Welcome to the real world, which is much different from the hype we get from journalists.
