Thanks Stu! I have SD roots - my mom grew up in Wagner, where my grandfather Walter Frei, was President of the Commercial State Bank. My Uncle Bob followed him as President after he retired. Mom’s sister Betty, married Otey Kittleson who was a doctor in Sioux Falls. My twin brother graduated from Augustana.

We had many vacations in Wagner and Sioux Falls when we were growing up. I remember the gravel and oiled roads, fishing in coves on the lake above Ft Randall dam and walking from our grandparents all over Wagner with our cousins.

I was never a big hunter but my brother made many trips to Wagner to hunt pheasant.

Anyway - I must heartily agree with your assessment! GO NAVY! BEAT TULANE!

I had no idea you had roots here! I go fishing on Francis Case periodically (bottom bouncing and jigging). Pease Creek and parts south toward the intakes. All good! Come back for a visit.....

Great to catch up with your writing Stu. Been a while. SD seems like the place to be. You could even get work in tourism if you get sick of writing about politics lol. Keep rattling the cages. I believe your governor is a very good operator. Cheers.

Thanks for the up-check! We'll see how Noem navigates shark-infested waters in DC. I'd rather go fishing :-)

When living in MN, Twin Cities area, when growing up, we used to make a dash to South Dakota for fireworks in July. MN, of course a deep blue state, had already outlawed them in the early 70’s. I think the town was Watertown, but I am unsure now.

One of my high school classmates back in the day was Arne Kocourek.
